Creative Business Q&A Vlog

I’ve been getting creative business questions from various people, so I decided to make a vlog to answer questions, and hopefully help more people at the same time! Spoiler .. there’s a fun little “fast forwarded” packaging video toward the end. 🙂 Disclaimer: These are my opinions! I’m not in a position to give any kind of actual legal advice, so please understand that these are opinions. Thanks! 🙂 Thanks to Sierra McClain for this week’s questions! https://youtube.com/watch?v=U7vO__DyOrI%3Ffeature%3Doembed Some useful links:Etsy teams: helpful to join a team of experienced sellers in the same fieldImport/Export Information: the section labelled “Individual Country Listings” is what … Read more

Printable of Philippians 4:8

If I were to tell you I had a letter from a man in prison, who had not committed the crime he was imprisoned for, who had been mistreated and abused, who had no wife or children to comfort him, who just found out that people he should have been able to count on were slandering him, and that he might soon be executed – how do you think that letter would sound? Depressed? Angry? Bitter? That prisoner is the apostle Paul, and the letter is the one he sent to the church to Philippi, which we now call Philippians … Read more

“I found the one whom my soul loves” printable

Today is my husband Tim’s birthday. Marriage as God designed it is a beautiful thing. Our marriage is far from perfect, certainly, but this life is a journey and I am glad that he is the one I spend it with and that we can grow, work, love and laugh together everyday. I’m so thankful that I can say this firsthand: “I found the one whom my soul loves.” (Song of Solomon 3:4.)

Tips on blog pages: The must-haves & the panache

3K+Save A few posts back I mentioned the importance of white space (especially in your background), but that if you are worried about it making your design too boring, do not fear! There are other ways to add panache to your site – ways that enhance rather than distract from your content. The banner and the sidebar we have already discussed – and today we’ll be talking about something that I consider to be often overlooked design-wise: your menu of stand-alone pages. When I refer to “stand-alone” pages, I’m talking about pages you create that don’t shift down in order like regular blog posts – these … Read more

Interact! 7 blog layout tips to engage your reader

Why is it that we blog? Why not just write in a journal? The specific answers may vary, but in the end it all comes down to the audience – the readers. 1K+Save Maybe you want to make people laugh, maybe you want to offer people help, maybe you want to share stories, maybe you want to draw traffic to make money. It’s all variations on a theme: finding readers. Because if we didn’t want readers, we would just write in in a private journal. So when people land on your site, if they are your target readership, you want … Read more

Hack Challenge: Week 1! DIY Solar Paper Lamps

Here we go! Thanks to all of you who voted for what would be the next challenge – and this week it begins: The “Hack” Challenge, where each week we come up with a new DIY project, upcycling an item from it’s original purpose into something new, usually some kind of home decor or furniture type project. And so onto week 1… Solar Powered DIY Paper Lamps! Generally when I come up with an idea for something I would like to turn into a lamp or use in lighting, I run into the same problem: it is not an object … Read more

Adventure Challenge: Week 2! Small Town Explore

Well, our weekly adventure challenge continues! (If you haven’t seen the challenge post yet, you can see it here.) Last week I shared our pirate nature scavenger hunt, and it was geared more specifically for small children. This time for our second adventure we did an activity which isn’t targeted at any specific age, and can be enjoyed by pretty much anyone. (Although, confession – I cheated a little on the “weekly” this time. I’ve been posting the week after the adventure, but we didn’t go on an adventure last week due to sickness, we are doing two this week instead. Life … Read more
