Well, in continuing the Wednesday “Seek the things above” series, I’ve had a section of free Bible verse printables up near the top of my page for a while now, but I realized I’ve never really mentioned it here in my posts! I just updated it today, changing some things around, and adding some new verses, and I wanted to explain that section – and share them with you in case you haven’t seen it before. :)
Deuteronomy 6:5-9 says, “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”
Jesus quoted the beginning of this verse in Mark 12, speaking of the greatest commandment – to love God first and foremost.
I decided I wanted more verses around our home – more visual reminders of where our hearts and minds should be. Of course, just having God’s words on the wall is not really the goal .. it should be in our hearts. We are to teach them to our children and always have them in mind and in our talk. But having something visual can cue my thoughts and remind me, as the verse also mentions having them around us in more physical senses – like on the doorposts and gates.
So I started making Bible verses into prints for our home, and I wanted to share them with anyone else who would find them helpful in their homes as well.
They are all 8×10, which is a common frame size, though some are horizontal and some are vertical. Click any image to get to the printable PDF file, and print on regular size printer paper, and just trim the white borders after printing to be left with your 8×10 print. (Although, I would recommend printing on heavier paper like cardstock rather than typical printer paper. One option is to have it printed at a place like Office Depot or Staples… they’ll typically print a full color cardstock copy for less than $1. You can get to the verse printables from any page on my blog by hovering over the “Printables” icon under my banner, and choosing “Bible Verse Printables” from the drop down menu. Or, in this case you can just click here. :) Here are a few of them:

It is so encouraging to enter a home and see evidence of God’s Word in it – not just on the walls, but in the hearts, actions, and speech of those who live there.
Leave your thoughts and comments below. :)
LOVE these! Printing away… :)
Glad you like them. :) Thanks Caitlin! :)
I LOVE these April! I’ll be printing some of these for our new house! :) I also appreciate that you have them available in different color schemes so I can easily find things that match our decor.
Oh and I’d love it if you did Ecclesiastes 12:13. That would be really awesome!!
So glad you like them! :) And yes, that would be an excellent verse to have up! I’ll see what I can do. :)
What do you suggest printing them on? Thanks!
Well, it kind of depends on how much you want to spend … there’s somewhat of an explanation in the paragraph right above the “merry heart” picture: all of these are 8x10s, but print on regular size printer paper, so you just trim off the extra white after printing. But I recommend something sturdier like cardstock, and since that’s an awful lot of ink, I suggest going somewhere like Staples where you can print a full color copy on cardstock for less than a dollar. But if you want to print on actual art quality paper through an art printing company (like I do for my shop’s prints – nicer, but cost more) you won’t want these PDFs that print on regular size paper, you would want just the image file, and possibly at a larger size … you would need to email me for that.
Or, alternatively, since you’re my mom – just tell me which ones you want and I can get nice prints of them and send them to you. :)
I absolutely love these! They are such a great way to profess your Christianity and love for the Lord our God while still being stylish and artistic! Thank you so much for the inspiration.
Thanks for stopping by, Maranda! I’m so glad you like them. :)
What a sweet thing to do! I am praying the Lord will bless you 100 fold for your generosity!
(((hugs)))

I’m very happy you find them helpful, Patti :)
THANK YOU so much! I can’t even express how excited I am to have found these!! I am always looking for ways to get scripture on our walls (so, like you said, it’s on our minds and in our hearts!) but it seems like they are always so stinking expensive!! If you are looking for another verse to do, I’ve always wanted something that has the FIRST part of Joshua 24:15- “Choose this day whom you will serve” but have never found it, it’s always the later part like you have above. That part is amazing too, but as a mother and counselor I am always encouraging my kids and clients to make good, God honoring choices! So that verse is kind of my mantra :) In my mind the “Choose” is large and stands out, because, in the end, so much comes down to our choices! If you end up doing something with it, please shoot me an email so I can enjoy too :) Again THANK YOU for blessing us all with your beautiful work and God’s precious Word!!
Love each one! They are AWESOME! Many thanks :)
THANK you for these! What a great way to bind them on our doorposts and teach our children!
I love these printables. Can’t wait to add them to my home… Perfect!! Thanks for sharing. ~Kristi
Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful printables! I love them all! :)
These are great-thank you so much! What a great way to hide His word in our hearts!
How did you make these? They do look good, and I want to decorate my living space with all sorts of verses – there are just too many to choose from! (Ha, I want to do Proverbs 20:3 for some of the people I live with.)
These are LOVELY! Thanks for making them available. (And I love your Etsy shop too.) My husband and I decided soon after we were married to make sure that Scripture was prominent in our home. I love that nearly everything on our wall, other than family pictures, has Scripture on it. It feels like such a simple way to help us “think on these things”. And we’ve had non-Christian guests comment on it too.
Blessings and again, thanks for sharing!
These are beautiful! Thank you so much for allowing those of us who don’t have these talents to be able to decorate our homes with such words of wisdom in modern lovely prints. What a wonderful way to bless others with the gifts He has given you!
I would love to see a Fruits of the Spirit print if get inspired. My four year old has learned the verse and I would love a daily reminder hanging up on the wall.
Thanks again!
April,
Would you mind if I downloaded and used one of your printables on my blog? I would like to display ‘As for me and my house we will serve the Lord’ somewhere on the sidebar of my blog. I love the colors and fonts that you used so much!!
Have a wonderful day!
~ Jamie
Beautiful! Thank you!
Thank you!! You have been such a blessing–just seeing these!! I am going to be placing some around my house very, very soon!!!
Thank you! I love these. Do you make them/design them yourself? Are there more. I’m looking for verses to put in my kids’ rooms too. Thanks again!
Yes, I design and make them myself – you can find more through the printables button on the menu near the top of my blog :)
God bless you for these
