Equipment

  • Slow cooker
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or whisk
  • Measuring cups
  • Knife for slicing ham and cheese
  • Spatula for serving

Ingredients

  • 1 can can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • ¼ cup butter melted
  • 4 oz sliced Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 package herbed dry bread stuffing mix
  • 4 oz sliced ham

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix the cream of chicken soup with milk until smooth.
  • Pour just enough of this mixture into the bottom of your slow cooker to create a thin layer.
  • Arrange the chicken breasts over the sauce, then layer slices of ham on top of each chicken breast, followed by Swiss cheese.
  • Pour the remaining soup mixture over the chicken, gently stirring to allow the sauce to seep between the layers.
  • Sprinkle the stuffing mix evenly over the top, then drizzle melted butter over the stuffing.
  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on Low for 4 to 6 hours or on High for 2 to 3 hours until the chicken is tender and the cheese is melted.

Notes

  • Use low-sodium cream of chicken soup to control the saltiness.
  • Substitute mozzarella for Swiss cheese if you prefer a milder flavor.
  • Add a sprinkle of dried herbs like thyme or parsley for extra flavor.
