  • Gather all your ingredients and tools, ensuring your whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup, water, and ice are ready to go.
  • Pour the whiskey, simple syrup, lemon juice, and water into a large mixing bowl. Whisk briefly to combine until the mixture is smooth and fragrant.
  • Transfer the mixture to a freezer-safe container, spreading it out evenly to help it chill faster.
  • Place the container in the freezer and let it chill for about 1 hour, until it starts to firm up around the edges.
  • Remove the container from the freezer and vigorously stir the mixture with a fork or whisk, breaking up icy clumps and creating a slushie texture.
  • Return the container to the freezer and repeat the stirring process every 30 minutes for another 1-2 hours, until the mixture is scoopable and icy but not frozen solid.
  • Once the slushie reaches a soft, scoopable consistency, serve immediately in chilled glasses for the best icy texture.
  • Optionally, add a twist of citrus zest or a dash of bitters to each glass for extra aroma and flavor complexity.
