Equipment

  • Blender
  • Sharp Knife & Cutting Board

Ingredients

  • 4 cups watermelon chunks seedless or strained if seeds are present
  • 1 piece lime for fresh juice
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup, optional
  • 1 cup ice cubes more for thicker texture
  • a few leaves mint optional garnish

Instructions

  • Cut the watermelon into roughly 2-inch chunks, removing seeds and rind.
  • Squeeze the juice of one lime directly into your blender to add a bright citrus flavor.
  • Add the watermelon chunks to the blender, then pour in 1-2 tablespoons of honey if you like a touch of sweetness.
  • Top the mixture with about 1 cup of ice cubes, more if you prefer a thicker, icier slush.
  • Blend everything on high for 30-40 seconds until the mixture is smooth, thick, and frosty, with a crackling sound as the ice breaks down.
  • Check the texture—if it’s too runny, add a few more ice cubes and blend again until thick and icy. If it’s too thick, splash in a little more lime juice or cold water to loosen it up.
  • Pour the chilled watermelon slushie into glasses, garnish with fresh mint leaves or a small wedge of watermelon for a colorful touch.
  • Serve immediately to enjoy the full icy freshness, or briefly freeze if preparing ahead—just give it a quick stir before serving.

Notes

For best results, use very ripe watermelon and fresh lime juice. Adjust sweetness with honey based on your fruit’s ripeness. You can also add herbs like mint for extra aroma.
