Ingredients
  

  • 750 ml red wine preferably fruity, such as Merlot or Zinfandel
  • 2 sticks cinnamon sticks crushed slightly to release more aroma
  • 4 cloves cloves whole for infusion
  • 1 orange orange zest and slices
  • 3 tbsp honey or to taste
  • 1 shot brandy optional, for added warmth and depth

  • Gather all your ingredients: a good fruity red wine, cinnamon sticks, cloves, an orange, honey, and a splash of brandy.
  • Pour the red wine into a large saucepan or Dutch oven, setting it over low heat.

  • Add the crushed cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, and orange zest (use a grater or peel slices) to the wine.
