- 3 chicken wings (approx. 16-18 wings)
- salt and black pepper
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- ¼ cup oil
- ½ cup favorite bottled barbecue sauce
- 2 cups honey
- 1 cup soy sauce
Cut off and discard the wing tips, then slice each wing at the joint to create two sections.
Lightly season with salt and pepper.
Arrange the wings on a broiler pan and place them about six inches from the heat source.
Broil for about ten minutes per side, or until golden brown.
Once browned, transfer the wings to a slow cooker.
In a separate bowl, mix the remaining ingredients until well combined.
Then pour the sauce over the wings.
Cover the slow cooker and set it to High for two hours or Low for four hours, allowing the flavors to meld and the wings to become tender.
- For extra crispiness, broil the wings again for a few minutes after slow cooking.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F for safety.
- Adding a dash of smoked paprika or cayenne can enhance the BBQ flavor with a smoky or spicy kick.
- Serve with a side of ranch or blue cheese dressing for a creamy contrast.
