Equipment

  • Rolling pin
  • Baking sheet
  • Sharp knife
  • Black olive pipper
  • Pastry brush

Ingredients

  • 1 package store-bought pizza dough preferably round
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce spreadable and tangy
  • 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/2 lb cooked sausage or pepperoni sliced into thin strips
  • 6 pieces black olives for eyes, pitted
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano optional, for seasoning
  • to taste chili flakes or garlic powder optional, for flavor boost

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 220°C (430°F). Prepare a baking sheet by lightly greasing or lining it with parchment paper.
  • Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface using a rolling pin until about 30 cm (12 inches) diameter, aiming for an even thickness.
  • Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce evenly over the surface of the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the sauce, covering most of the surface for a gooey base.
  • Cut the cooked sausage or pepperoni into thin strips using a sharp knife, creating bandage-like pieces.
  • Arrange the sausage strips in a crisscross pattern across the pizza, leaving small gaps for the eyes.
  • Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and crispy, and the cheese is bubbling.
  • While baking, prepare small dots of black olives or peppercorns using a pipper or knife to create eyes.
  • Once baked, carefully remove the pizza from the oven and place the olive eyes in the designated spots on the mummy pattern.
  • Let the pizza rest for 5 minutes to allow the cheese to set slightly, making it easier to slice.
  • Slice the pizza and serve immediately, enjoying the crispy crust, gooey cheese, and playful mummy design.

Notes

For extra creepiness, add small bell peppers or cherry tomatoes for colorful accents. Ensure the sausage bandages are slightly crispy for added texture. Use cheese or egg wash to help eyes stay securely in place.
