Ingredients
  

  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 cups peeled and chopped apple
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup raisins
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a small fluted tube pan.
  • Sift flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt into a bowl and set it aside.
  • In a separate bowl, combine sugar, egg, and oil.
  • Gradually stir in the sifted flour mixture until combined.
  • Fold in the chopped apple, walnuts, and raisins.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.

Notes

  • You can swap the walnuts for pecans or almonds for a different flavor.
  • For a touch of extra sweetness, add a drizzle of caramel sauce over the finished cake.
  • If you prefer a lighter texture, you can use half whole wheat flour and half all-purpose flour.
