Ingredients
  

  • cup half and half
  • 1 lb ground pork sausage or maple sausage
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 6 slices white bread toasted and cut into cubes
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 6 eggs beaten

Instructions
 

  • Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish and set it aside.
  • Cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until browned, then drain the excess grease.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, half and half, and salt.
  • Add the cooked sausage, bread cubes, and shredded cheese to the egg mixture, stirring until everything is well combined.
  • Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, ensuring an even layer.
  • Cover with foil and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake the covered casserole for 50-60 minutes.
  • Reduce the heat to 325°F, remove the foil, and bake for another 20-30 minutes until the casserole is fully set.
