Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Saucepan
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Skewer or toothpick
  • Serving platter

Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti preferably your favorite type
  • 4 large sausages beef or pork, for realistic fingers
  • 2 cups tomato sauce rich and flavorful
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder for a spicy kick
  • to taste slivered almonds or black olive slices for nails or scars
  • optional red food coloring or beet juice to make the sauce look blood-red

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil, then add the spaghetti and cook until al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • While the pasta cooks, prepare the sausage fingers by cutting each sausage into 3-4 inch long pieces. Use a knife to score small knuckles on top, and press tiny slivered almonds or black olive slices into the tips to mimic nails.
  • In a saucepan, sauté chopped onions and minced garlic until fragrant and translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the tomato sauce, chili powder, and a splash of red food coloring or beet juice if using. Simmer on low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened and vibrant red.
  • Once the sauce is ready and bubbling gently, add the cooked spaghetti and toss to coat evenly in the bloody sauce. Keep warm.
  • Arrange the sausage fingers on a large serving platter, spacing them out to look like crawling creatures. Spoon the bloody sauce generously over the sausages and pasta, allowing it to drip and pool for a gory effect.
  • Decorate the sausage tips with tiny almond slivers or olive slices to resemble nails or scars. For extra creepy touches, add small edible or plastic eyes to some sausages.
  • Serve immediately, allowing everyone to enjoy the spooky, flavorful spaghetti with creepy sausage fingers and bloody sauce. Perfect for a festive Halloween dinner!
