Hi all! So, you know all this hype I’ve been talking about moving to Boston? Well, things seem to finally be moving along! I hope to be able to share a moving date with you *very* soon, Lord willing.
In the meantime, as I crazily pack boxes, get rid of stuff, prepare for our hopefully eminent move and still try to get dinner on the table, I’m going to need to change up the pace of my blog a little bit, and I wanted to let you know kind of what to expect.
Fridays will continue to be the DIY Blog Redesign challenge. That is really the main thing on my blog right now that definitely has a end-date deadline. It’s a 10 week series (this week will be week 4), so we’ll continue on pace with that.
Mondays will probably start featuring some guest posters and/or highlight some great tips and finds from others … like some occasional link round-ups or interesting Etsy finds.
Wednesdays (like today) are currently the “Truth and Evidences” series, where we’re looking at evidences in religion. These posts are quite time consuming, and so for the rest of the summer, I will plan to post a new one of these every-other Wednesday instead of every Wednesday. So there was a Wednesday post for that series last week, and there will be another next week … but not this week.
Tuesday has been the day for Tim’s RTW cartoon. Considering the fact that that cartoon is based on the things he draws on a form at his current job, I’m not sure how much longer that will run, since he will not still be in that job soon, Lord willing. We’ll probably play that one by ear.
Anyway, that’s kind of my current plan. I’d be very curious to hear (and not just in light of blogging-while-moving, but also just in general), what types of posts here do you enjoy most? Anything you would like to see in particular?
Leave your thoughts and comments below, I love to hear from you! :)
(And I can’t wait to blog from Boston!! Wooohooooooo!)
Wow, girl, it feels like you JUST moved! Prayers for an easy transition!
Looking forward to your Wednesday series!
Thanks Kristi! Yeah, it was almost exactly a year ago that we moved here … time to be moving on! :)
hi April!
you’re seems so excite of Boston! what it make so special for you?
it’s kinda funny to feel your can’t-wait-feeling for moving to this new town! :)
and about your blog, well, until now i like every posts you (or Tim) put on the blog!
but if i have to choose, maybe the “Truth and Evidences” series of Wednesdays and right now the DIY blogging tips..
oh, i also LOVE the recipe you suggest.. also if until now i never try them! (but i want to try as soon as possible :P look at your photos and seems all so YUMMY)
you ask also if there is something we want to see.. well, if you mean “new ideas”, if i remember well i read somewhere you like to write.. i’m so curious to know a little more about it!
but i know that for a writer is not good to talk about its works before their finish…
and then, i remember some vintage posts about clothes.. and also your house have some of this style, as shown in your photos.. well, just right now i’m trying to “find my style”, until now i never have a style that i can call mine, and my friend say that is time to think about it.. well, i’m not sure that vintage will be my style, but i like that posts where you gave some tips for cute things we find in fair and how adapt them for us!
oh, really there is another thing: now that you have to move, i’m curious to hear about you if also you pass more time looking at objects you have to put in boxes than pack them! (i remember that when i have to clean my room, i finally pass my days reading old books, playing with old toys and looking at old school’s notebook!)
have a good and easy move! :)
Oh, thanks for all the great ideas and feedback, Fede!! :) Haha, so true sometimes about thinking about items as I pack … I’m definitely having to take a good bit of time to really examine each object … and not so much because I’m stopping to enjoy each one, but more because I have to decide whether to keep it or not. We will be in a much smaller apartment when we are in Boston, and can’t keep many of our belongings. That is why it takes so long for me to pack – soooo many decisions!!
As for why I am so excited about Boston … I guess there are a few different reasons. For one thing, I like the city itself, it’s a really neat place with a lot of history and interesting places. Also, my family and Tim’s family live in states closer to Boston, so we will hopefully get to see them more often. Also, we have some dear, dear friends in Boston that we are looking forward to living close to. But the biggest reason has to do with congregation we will be worshiping with when we are there. It is very small, but they are teaching the Bible and nothing else (like, not teaching a certain denomination’s teachings), and we look forward to worshiping with them. The church we are with here also teaches just the Bible, too, of course! But it is a larger and more established group where there are more people to share the work, and we are looking forward to being somewhere where we can hopefully be more helpful. :) Plus … I love going new places and exploring … moving is such an exciting adventure! :)
So excited to hear that things are moving forward for your family to go to Boston! You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Thanks, Heather! :)
April, I am so excited about you coming to Boston. I’m looking forward to exploring some of it with you too. I know you and Tim will bless the congregation and help with the work to glorify God!
I’m so excited .. we’re looking forward to see you RI folks more often :)
I had been a reader who stopped in frequently, but your blogger redesign series sucked me in big time. It seems like forever for Friday to come, lol! I LOVE the Truth and Evidence series, as well, though. I tend to be very feelings based, which doesn’t always work well when trying to share my faith with someone who is evidenced based in their thinking. But, I’ve also enjoyed perusing previous posts, like the adventure challenge.
I’m like you about moving – I love it. Fresh start, new places to discover – so fun!! I never thought I would move away from my home town but now am so grateful that we did. I can’t wait to hear more about Boston.
Aw, thanks Kara!! It’s hugely helpful to know what people are enjoying and finding helpful :) I’m actually working on tomorrow’s blog design post right now … it’s almost done, haha! :) I hope you’ll find it helpful :)
