I am the primary writer on this blog, but my husband Tim may be putting up occasional posts here as well in the future, and so I thought I should start off by letting you get to know him a little bit. So last night I “interviewed” him. HA! Generally you interview someone you don’t already know. I think all married people should interview their spouse sometimes … it makes for some good laughs. :)
Me: “So, what’s your name?”
Tim: “….Tim. Why are you asking that?”
Me: “How would you describe yourself in one word or less?”
Tim: “Pretty good.”
Me: *laughing* “You’d describe yourself as pretty good?”
Tim: “Well, I’m really pretty great … but I’m also humble.”
Me: “Tell me a little bit about where you are from.”
Tim: “I am from Rhode Island which is a small but quirky state. I’m proud to be a New Englander.”
Me: “What’s your favorite breakfast?”
Tim: “Like, if I could have anything? Not just a normal I’m-just-running-out-of-the-house breakfast?”
Me: “Yes, sure.”
Tim: “French toast, eggs, bacon, coffee.”
Me: “If you had to choose between jumping up on a stage and singing “Never Gonna Give You Up”, or putting a tarantula in your pocket, what would you choose?”
Tim: “Tarantula in the pocket, he said without hesitation.”
Me: “What is your claim to fame?”
Tim: “The number 17. … Well, you see, not many people know me, but lots of people know the number 17. And the number 17 likes me.”
Me: “Any nicknames?”
Tim: “Um.” *laughing* “Maybe. Um. Well, Jason at work has taken to calling me T-sizzle.”
Me: “Starbucks?”
Tim: “No thanks. … Was that a question?”
Me: “Yes.”
Tim: “Oh, I wasn’t sure if you were checking that as a nickname.”
Me: “Math, numbers, etc. Your thoughts?”
Tim: “Very yes. I’ve been doing a lot of recreational math lately.”
Me: *shudders*
Tim: “I have a project that I’m kind of working on just for the challenge of it, but I don’t really want to succeed.”
Me: “I’m not even gonna ask.”
Me: “Tell us, what is it like to be married to someone as wonderful as me?”
Tim: *silence*
*laughter*
“Sometimes I just can’t believe my luck.”
Me: “Any parting words?”
Tim: “Yes. Hopscotch, lemon drop, scroll saw.”
Some of you may recognize him because he is the one wearing the guys’ vintage clothing from my shop. He’s a very multi-talented guy. :) He is definitely good at making me laugh. I had to share the Valentine card he made for me (don’t worry, the really sappy stuff is not included). This has to be one of the strangest Valentines I have ever received … I loved it! Although when I first saw the cover I was thinking, “Whaaaat…?!”
I’m not accustomed to seeing someone shot on the front of my V-day card. But then I opened it …
… and laughed really hard. Although I had to disagree, because I think he definitely has drawing skills.
Anyway, now you know a little more about Tim, and you’ll probably be hearing from him more here on the blog. Be sure to leave a “hello” for him in the comments below! :)
I’m looking forward to his posts…mostly because I laughed really hard at the flying narwhal part of his card.
Hehe, yeah it totally cracked me up! I’m hoping he’ll put up some more of his cartoons on here in the future. :)
LOL, you gotta love Tim!
Yes, yes I do. ;)
Love the interview! Also his v day card was hilarious!! Can’t wait to see his post!
Thanks, Stela! :D
That card was hilarious! We love that guy of yours too! :) I enjoyed the interview and must say that I want what he’s having for breakfast!
Yeah, the breakfast sounds good! And now I know what to make him I want to make a special breakfast. Cause I’m sneaky like that. ;)
LOLL (laughing out loud literally :-)
loved it
Hehe, I’m very glad. :D
Oh my gosh – your husband rocks!!! Best Valentines Day card ever – you lucky girl! Welcome Tim – so nice to meet you!
– Brandi
I know, right?! :D I pretty much like him a ton. :)
And thanks for the welcome for Tim, I’ll be sure he sees it! :)
Glad to see he’s still on good terms with 17! Hi Tim!
The valentine card reminds me of the trouble I’ve always had with the phrase “I couldn’t (verb) a (noun) to save my life.” I’ve always wondered in what situation (for example) not being able to draw a straight line (or a pole vaulting porpoise) would cause my untimely death. And now I’ve seen it illustrated before my very eyes. Thanks!
Haha!! :D Sooooo true about that phrase. When someone uses it, it just kind of begs the question of when that could ever possibly be a matter of life or death!
So fun! BTW, dad interviewed me tonight after he was inspired by your interview of Tim;) Fun times!
My three favorite interactions in the interview were the math one (I shuddered before I saw your shudder because the interview was being read aloud to me), the choice of tarantula, and the parting words:)
Ohh, how fun that you guys did it too! Yay! :D
Yeah, recreational math. Well, I must say, I’m glad there are people who like math so people like can leave the really math-y jobs to them. :)
This interview is hilarious! Hi Tim, it’s really great to meet you. I think your drawing skills are actually pretty good and you’re not the first person I’ve met who likes to do math problems in his spare time. Looking forward to more posts from both of you :)
Haha, thanks Katrina! I’ll make sure Tim sees your hello! :)
Yeah, I know some various people who like math for fun. Personally .. I don’t get it. But to each his own! :)
1. This is hilarious. I wish the kids weren’t sleeping so i could lol. :)
2. I *can’t believe* he didn’t pick “or less”. I can just picture it… he would stare at you pointedly till you get it – maybe throw in a cheesy grin and a little head wobble.
3. You guys make a great team!
Aww, thanks Jody! :D
Yeah, I felt like I was really setting him up with the “or less” – I expected him to take that! :)
Laughing…
Tim may be just a little too cool for the blog world, but I look forward to hearing from him.
Haha! I think his writing style will be a little different than his interview. :)
Your husband is absolutely charming! Intelligent, witty and handsome!
Agreed! :)
OK … so I am his mom. :-)
Thanks for stopping by my blog! :)
